[The Challenge]

The self-tan category is saturated with brands that all speak the same visual language. Clean packaging. Clinical beauty cues. Predictable aesthetics. The opportunity wasn’t to create another premium tanning brand, it was to build something with stronger emotional pull and sharper cultural relevance.
A concept that would feel instantly eye-catching, memorable, and built for a younger audience consuming beauty through fast-moving digital platforms.

[The Concept]

Brownies was built around a simple shift in positioning:

Self-tan as indulgence.

Instead of framing tanning as maintenance, correction, or skincare discipline, the concept reframed it as pleasure. Drawing inspiration from dessert culture, cravings, rich textures, and after-dark temptation, the brand introduced an entirely different emotional universe for the category. Oversized typography, indulgent naming, and appetite-driven visual storytelling transformed a functional product into something sensory, seductive, and culturally disruptive.

Rather than behaving like conventional beauty branding, Brownies was designed to feel like temptation in packaging.

Instead, it leans into indulgence, cravings, and hyper-sensory storytelling - creating a brand designed to capture attention instantly in a world shaped by TikTok, visual culture, and impulse-driven discovery.
